Following a trip to Marrakesh, Georgiana Grimston and Anna Craven-Smith-Milnes decided to organise their own mini souk by bringing together their contacts in fashion and retail. In 2003, The Travelling Souk was born and started with humble events at friends’ houses, offering a glass of wine and creating a wonderful atmosphere for shopping.

In the last six years, The Travelling Souk has surpassed these early aims and has progressed into a modern day market selling niche and exotic brands in beautiful locations across the country. Unlike many modern day ventures, it has a firm and altruistic conscience, giving ten percent of all proceeds to charity. To date they have raised over £200,000 for various charities. The markets offer an opportunity for the community to come together to showcase their exquisite hand made and unique treasures, whilst giving back to charity.

During its first year The Travelling Souk hosted five events with twenty-five stallholders.
