This genius invention from Freedom means you can not only ditch the flex when perfecting your 'do, you can even straighten your hair when there's no electricity around. How? Well, this nifty set comes with a 60-minute usage time rechargeable battery. And if that runs out? No problem. These straighteners can be recharged through a car charger.

Could this mean, for those of us vain enough, that festival/camping/dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards hair could be a thing of the past? We think so.

The Freedom 24/7 - Cordless Hair Straightener, which comes in black, white and red, has top quality salon standard floating ceramic and tourmaline plates, which heat up to 200 degrees in around 60 seconds and have variable heat settings for fine, heavy, straight or curly hair.

If you're planning a break away, the UK, EU and US mains adaptors included in the box will also ensure you can get lovely straight locks abroad.

Quite simply, brilliant.

Freedom 24/7 Cordless Hair Straighteners can be ordered from www.justbeautifully.co.uk right here.

Beautifully packaged in funky cow print tubs - and delivered as gifts in quirky cow print boxes, the collection also has a seriousy useful side.

Staffordshire pharmacist Andrew Magrath discovered the range in Boston, America, when he was on a round-the-world yacht race called the BT Global Challenge (which, incidentally, he won). He and his team found it to be fantastic on all of their skin complaints, including sun and wind burn, rope burns and salt sores. 'We found Udderly Smooth to be a wonderful greaseless, stainless all-round moisturiser and barrier cream,' says Andrew.

He began importing Udderly Smooth® from the Kennedy family in Ohio (who manufacture the brand) when he returned from the race and hopes to bring it to the rest of the UK.

A versatilve cream, it can be used to treat dry, chapped skin, sunburn, windburn, cracked heels, eczema and psoriasis. It has also been used as an effective treatment for nappy rash and is ideal for use after breast feeding and during Chemotherapy treatment, when the skin can become dry.

Sporting enthusiasts will also be pleased to learn it's ideal for protecting the skin while skiing and snowboarding, cycling, scuba diving, watersports, horse riding, hiking, swimming and even gardening.

Udderly Smooth offers four products; Hand Cream, Hand & Body Lotion, Foot Cream with Shea Butter and the new Chamois Cream for cyclists.

Visit www.udderlysmooth.co.uk to find out more, or find the range at The Garden Pharmacy in Covent Garden, London, or Fenwick of Bond Street, London. Prices range from from £3.20 to £7.99. Udderly Smooth will also be at this year’s Clothes Show Live in December.

The Orange Mango Banana Blend contains one whole banana, whey protein and fibre power, a choice of milk, ice and fruit juices, while the Banana Chocolate Blend is made with bittersweet cocoa and a whole banana.

The drinks contain no artificial sweeteners and are reassuringly low in fat. We tried them out here on the Life & Style team and have to say they're rather refreshingly ice cold and delicious.

Starbucks Vivanno Nourishing Blends are £3.25 for a tall size.

Yes that girl is one mesmerising beauty. She just manages to look good in anything - and what she wears, I want to buy. (If only I could fit into her size 6 jeans. Well, maybe I could if you sewed both legs together.) And that hair! Just so glamorously fabulous.

Which brings me on to a new range which has just been launched by Remington, called Shine Therapy. This new collection, which features a hair dryer and straightener is a bit different because it delivers conditioning properties to the hair while styling.

The Dryer (£49.99) has 'vitamin shine technology' and will emit a sheer mist containing vitamins A, E and D and avocado oil, nutrients that 'work together to produce the ultimate shine', according to Remington. With the touch of a button, the mist will surround your hair whilst drying resulting in an altogether glossier finish.

The Straightener (£69.99) has ceramic plates infused with a blend of vitamin E, avocado oil and conditioning agents that diffuse onto the hair during styling, to give it extra protection.

Remington’s Shine Therapy is stocked at leading high street stores including Boots and Argos.

The Little Brown Loaf (made by them of hazy-summertime-cycling-down-cobblestone-lanes Hovis people) is making a comeback. First introduced in 1886, the Little Brown Loaf is a tasty, unsliced, wholemeal loaf, which has the Hovis logo embossed on both sides.

Available exclusively from Harrods’ in-store bakery from 1st September, the loaf is priced at £1.05, and will be sold nationwide throughout supermarkets later in the month.

But here's the thing, Harrods of Knightsbridge will also be exclusively stocking 122 limited edition ‘Bake Your Own Hovis Little Brown Loaf’ kits in-store. Priced at £24.95, the premium kits will contain a Hovis baking tin and Hovis wholemeal flour, so you can bake your own delicious Little Brown Loaf at home. All profits from the sale of the kits will go directly to Cancer Research UK.

So go on, fill your home with the warm aroma of baking bread at the weekend and know that you're doing something good for charity at the same time. Scrumptious.

But for those of us who might be thinking a little nip and tuck here or there might be fine when we no longer feel in our prime, it appears there's a massive dowside to plastic surgery. And no, we're not talking about overly-taut faces or permanently-surprised expressions. This problem is emerging after tummy tucks and liposuction, as well as the infamous facelift.

The thing is, that once the skin has undergone surgery, scar tissue forms, which prevents the blood vessels taking all of the oxygen and nutrients to the skin that it once enjoyed. So while the results of surgery can look good for about a year, the reality is that several years down the line, the skin can become grey, mottled and dimpled. Yikes.

Check out this great article in the Daily Mail on the subject here.

Brainchild for the site David Chapman has come up with a unique combination of fashion, shopping and social networking - think MySpace meets eBay or a fashion Facebook. The site consists of a comprehensive online shop including many exclusive products, users and stores varying from small local boutiques and businesses such as Luxe Jesmond, Me Me Me and Selah Boutique to big high street brands such as Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge.

Sales Manager Jess Berg says: "Normally when you shop online, you can only look at one store's clothes at a time. Not only does this limit your choice, it also makes it difficult to compare prices. As MyFashions brings the biggest and most exclusive names in fashion together in one marketplace, you have unbelievable choice and you can make sure you get the best price."

Similar to social networking sites, users and stores can upload profiles. These include graphics, personal or company information, videos, photos and much more. Most importantly, stores upload products to the shop making the site a huge marketplace for fashion.

You can buy from the shop by viewing a product and clicking on the relevant link to go to the store's website. Also last month MyFashions added a checkout system which enables stores without websites to sell online. This gives users the opportunity to buy thousands of exclusive products previously only available in store.

Also like other social networking sites, you can become 'friends' with other users and stores. Becoming friends with a store has many advantages, but the main benefit is that you are one of the first to hear about new products, offers/sales or events. Stores may also send you exclusive offers not advertised on their profile or website.

To register, log on to www.myfashions.co.uk. For more information on getting your store on MyFashions, please call Jess Berg on (0191) 255 8887.

But that needn't mean ditching your exercise regime. In fact, getting the endorphins flowing is probably one of the best things we can do to lift our spirits as our budgets shrink. (And let's face it - a good bike ride is going to be a lot cheaper than hitting the high streets right now.)

Enter The Frugal Life team. Two of our writers are on a mission to lower their BMIs (Body Mass Indexes) for the cheapest possible price in the coming months. And while one is an urban chick, the other is a country-loving girl. So who can get the greatest results according to where they live? Find out in the Frugal Life Fitness Challenge here!

Many of you were of the opinion that 'Guyliner is Awesome. Men + Mascara = HOT!!!!!!!!!' as one anonymous reader succinctly put it.

Claire added: "I think it's fine that men wear make-up, my bf wears a bit when we go out, only eye liner and a bit of black shadow though. I think what's stupid is making make-up that is specifically for men. Why not just have male models modelling the stuff that women wear? It's all just a money making thing really, because they know guys will buy it because it will make them feel better about buying make-up that's actually made for men, rather than being embarrassed about their secret collection of Maxfactor haha!'

While Abigail commented: 'Speaking as a female who has quite a thing for men in a bit of make up I'm all in favour!!! Bring it on :o)'

So it seems most of our female readers out there are well up for the idea of the fellas enhancing their peepers. Men, you have been told!

Meanwhile, many of you (like me) have been glued to the latest series of Ten Years Younger, which I personally think is one of the best adverts for the beauty industry I've seen in a long time.

Frances, who is a fifty-something, commented: 'I have yet to dye my hair, have Botox or surgery and when I cannot love my reflection, I will find the money to improve what I see in the mirror. Shallow people think appearances don't matter, inexperience and ignorance will believe we don't judge what we see. We are here to be happy and experience the joy of human existence and we have all have experienced rejection pain. So whatever reasons affect our perception of ourselves, whether we are young, old male or female, it is entirely ok to adjust and change, whether it is our opinion, view or appearance. And when a wonderful group of experts come together to produce something beautiful, I am there encouraging them on!'

Sian, however, begged to differ. 'Leave women alone', she said. 'Some of us are glad to look our age as it means no longer getting unwanted attention. Why is it always assumed women need and want improving all the time, I am sick of it. True beauty comes from within.'

So it seems not everyone is a fan, but whatever you think of Ten Years Younger, it's certainly eye-catching television indeed!

Thanks for all your posts and messages throughout July. Do keep them coming!

All the best,

Nic x

Make-up for men is finally here! Yes, high street chain Superdrug has launched a brand new range of make-up for men.

Good for the likes of Russell Brand, Pete Doherty and all those 18-something waiflike male models you might say, but can you imagine your average cabbie wearing it? Well, the range is called Taxi Man after all.

Is this a trend that's reserved for the under-20, non-alpha male, or will it catch on? Fellas, would you consider enhancing your peepers and girls, would you like your men to add that feminine touch on a Friday night?

Lawks-a-mercy it's going to be a battle for the bathroom mirror. Still, when us girls run out, at least we can delve into our boyfs' make-up bags! Start guarding yours with your lives.

See and order Superdrug's guyliner here.

Tell us what you think...

That said, it can get a bit sticky – and this can lead to sweaty, or should I say ‘glowing’ skin.

This, in turn, can also lead to small outbreaks – even in those of us way beyond our teenage years. But we are not alone.

Clinical studies indicate that between 40 and 55 per cent of the adult population aged 20 to 40 can suffer with acne or oily skin. Yes, no longer just a teen problem, the condition is now acknowledged as a common disorder. It’s also more persistent than the teen version, because scarring is more prevalent in adults as our skin repairs itself less quickly.

Many products for acne or oily skin conditions are often created for teenagers however, and therefore too harsh for adults. Enter Dermalogica, which has just introduced its MediBac Clearing range, specificlaly designed to treat these symptoms in adults.

A refreshing collection, it helps to cool the skin, stop it feeling greasy during the heat and is specifically designed to clear the pores and prevent inflammation.

Check out:

The Clearing Skin Wash (£29) which clears away excess oil without stripping skin and soothing irritation

The Clearing Mattifer (£36) designed to clear breakouts, reduce congestion and control shine

The Concealing Spot Treatment (£25.80) an intense treatment with a natural-looking tint ideal for daytime coverage of breakouts

The Overnight Clearing Gel (£34) which reduces excess sebum, sloughs off pore-clogging cells and calms inflammation

The Sebum Clearing Masque (£33.40) a cooling clay masque which absorbs excess surface oil and prevents breakouts.

Personally I find myself glued to it on a Tuesday night as him indoors first raises his eyebrows nonchalantly then finds himself gasping in horror as he's forced to look away from the screen during the dental and surgery moments.

It really is in-your-face, warts-and-all television and I don't think I've seen a better advert for the beauty industry.

'They certainly rise to the challenge' quipped the fella as we watched last night's episode. And when I saw Pandora being introduced to the cameras I was captivated. A 20-a-day smoker, Pandora had lost her teeth, had grey wrinkly skin and, to quote Channel 4, 'was in need of a sprinkling of festive fairy dust'.

Listen, I don't mean this from a bitchy perspective, because lord knows the programme's commentator delivers that by the bucketloads. Last night 'he', yes 'he' made some comment like, 'Pandora looked like she'd been hit by a bus and then run over by it several times' or somesuch, which I thought was stretching the boundaries of cruelty on national television by a mile.

But my god, when I saw Pandora at the end of the show I nearly fell off my seat. The transformation was SO dramatic I couldn't believe that she was the same person. It made me wonder how beautiful Pandora might have been in her youth. And how that beauty might never have been realised again if she hadn't gone on the show. It also got me thinking how much money can buy you 'looks' as our society becomes increasingly Botox and surgery-focused. But more importantly than all that - how important it is to look after ourselves.

Pandora went from scruffy, drawn, wrinkly and grey to quite simply dazzling, effervescent and stylish overnight. Pandora was so pleased with her transformation she became simply brimming with confidence - even her more youthful personality seem to be set free. I would be amazed if anyone could have recognised her from the Pandora she was before.

The debate buxom women everywhere are most concerned about is the 'storm in a DD cup' at Marks & Spencer.

The high street favourite sells around 20million bras a year in the UK, that's 45 every minute. But it has recently padded its costs with a £2 surcharge on bras above DD cup, saying the cost of the extra work and material justifies the higher price.

He's decided it's time for a style change and is growing his hair. This, coupled with the recent addition of a beard (well, it started out as stubble three years ago and just took over) makes me wonder if I'm going to be married to a Captain Caveman lookalike in five years time.

Anyway I digress. The change in style has meant he's been having a bit of a conundrum with hair products. What is a boy to do? Wax just won't cut it on longer locks you see, it's too thick. And gel, of course, is too 'wet look'. Sigh... as if life wasn't hard enough already.

But just when you think a problem is starting to take over, enter... Schwarzkopf! Yes this canny brand has come up several little pots of goodness that can take a fella - or laydee for that matter - through any change in style.

The new Osis Design Mix range is, in their words, 'inspired by the play of textures and materials in the world of art and design. The collection features six new products which have been designed to fulfil any styling need, be it Smooth, Rough, Gloss, Matt, Light or Strong'.

Well, it's been a godsend. And I've been stealing some myself. The Rough and Matt is great on shorter hair for a tousled look, while the Light and Smooth are fab for when it gets a couple of inches longer. For longer-haired ladies such as myself, the Gloss also comes highly recommended for those flyaway ends.

To find out more about the range - and to keep your locks in check - contact Schwarzkopf Professional on 01296 314 000 or log on to
www.schwarzkopfsalonfinder.co.uk.

The busy mum of two took time out from her recording schedule to visit India and Russia, to find out where hair extensions come from and what really goes on behind the scenes to bring them to Western Europe.

As a pop star performing hundreds of concerts and attending dozens of photoshoots, Jamelia has often worn hair extensions in the past. But after seeing what happens to young girls and women in the East, she has vowed never to have them again.
The day before Mother's Day, my brother and I were, as usual, stuck for ideas on what to get our mum and were wandering through a department store when my brother declared he had an idea and stormed off to the make-up and beauty section. He then went on to tell me in a very matter-of-fact way that this particular abrasive scrub from Origins was, quote 'just heavenly for the skin'. Even though I was shocked at his sudden camp personality, I have to say, I agreed with him. We bought my mum the product and I sneak into her room every now or then to use it on myself.

It's a very hard abrasive scrub which if you use more than once or twice a week can really irritate the skin but in moderation it leaves skin soft, smooth and feeling clean. Having used products from Garnier and Clearasil which didn't seem to make much of an improvement this is definitely the best I've tried. However, as always, the products I seem to like come with a rather large price tag. At the higher end of the high-street, this product 'Modern Friction' from Origins is a shocking £27.50. Even though it lasts a very long time as you can't use it very often, the price is probably just that bit too steep for me (and most people).

I've since tried out St Ives Apricot scrub (simply because it was on offer 2 for 3) and was quite impressed with the results. The finish wasn't as nice as the more expensive product but I loved the smell and the value for money was good. After a while, however it seemed to irritate my skin and so I've since stopped using it. Exfoliating is an important part of any girl's skin routine as it prevents pores from getting clogged and those annoying black heads from appearing.

Unfortunately for me, I’m still on the lookout for a good scrub!

The week is almost over here which means that on Monday Nic will be back from holiday and back on the blog so stay posted for more tips and tricks from her!

Jess

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-07-04T16:51:21Z</dcterms:modified>

Stretch marks solutions

I noticed a couple of years ago that I had acquired stretch marks on my thighs and more recently my chest. Distraught at the thought of permanent scarring I immediately went to the shop and bought some Palmer's Cocoa Butter moisturiser which was supposed to reduce the visibility of the marks. I love this moisturiser as it leaves the skin extremely soft and also the smell is addictive, however I didn't really notice any change in the appearence of my scars.

I know use bio-oil which was very expensive for such a small bottle but I have to say I really am starting to notice the effects. The majority of my marks are fading right away and are nowhere near as noticeable as before. The product is expensive at around £15 for 200ml but I bought a 60ml bottle and still haven't finished it as you can use it sparingly and it is still very effective. Another option may be to try baby oil which I have also tried and this too appeared to improve the marks and is just a fraction of the price of the other products. The great thing about bio oil is that it also can be used on the face and really helps to even complexion and reduce redness.

Even if you don't have strech marks, using these products on a daily basis could help to prevent you from getting them and if you want my advice, that's definitely worth it!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-07-03T10:54:26Z</dcterms:modified>

Mascara blues

I'm currently on the hunt for a new mascara as I have been particularly disappointed with my latest buy. Not yet satisfied with anything I've tried from the cheaper end of the market, I recently upgraded to Yves Saint Laurent False Lash Effect which cost me about £20 in House of Fraser. I really loved the mascara and thought I'd found a keeper as it made my lashes look very thick and long. Unfortunately it didn't last me very long at all and after no longer than about 5 weeks it had run out. I think the average shelf-life for a mascara is about 2 months and considering that this is the most expensive one I've bought, I'm not very impressed.

I've used both the Lash Maxxx and Volume Extend mascaras from Rimmel in the past, neither of which seemed to make that great an impact on my lashes. At first the Volume Extend mascara seemed to do the trick with the white end for lash extension and black end for maximum colour, but this soon dried out too.

So I've decided to either go for the Bourjois Paris 'Coup de Theatre' mascara which can be picked up in Superdrug for about £9 or Christian Dior 'DiorShow' mascara which is about £17 in most stores. The Bourjois option I've used before and love the results you get from the two ended product just like with the Rimmel version but have been recommended the Dior mascara after a friend got a sample a while ago and is still using it. The longer it lasts, the better.

I always find mascara one of the hardest products to be satisfied with so this time I'm determined to get it right! Although, I think my mind will probably be made up when I get to the till

Molton Brown are releasing a new range for next season and I was lucky enough to get to discover it.

Molton Brown - something you only come across in the most beautifully tiled and decorated bathrooms complete with fountains and personal hand-driers... well maybe they don't have to be that posh, but it is certainly not a product you would expect to find in your average household. I see Molton Brown products as special. If ever I were to have the pleasure of owning one I would definitely use it so sparingly that I still have it in 50 years time. Considering the price of these products you may be able to understand why this is the case for me, an extremely poor student.

The great thing about the products is that you do feel as though you are getting good value for money. The scents are so strong and powerful that they last a long time and the creams are rich in moisturiser and will leave your skin feeling softer than soft. If I had enough money to, I would definitely indulge and it would come before the beautiful tiles.

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of attending the release of the Autumn/Winter range of Molton Brown products. I know what you're thinking, surely summer has only just begun, but I guess there's no harm in buying your Christmas presents early! Some of the new products in the range are candelas in varying scents, my personal favourite of which is the rich and sweet inspiring wild indigo. These candelas are available in large and small sizes which come in a trinity. Unfortunately for me £49 is possibly a tad high a price to pay on a scented candle, but would make a nice present if your circumstances allow you to splash out. The burn time on the candelas is also very long as each one is expected to burn for between 70 to 80 hours.

Some of the new scents such as the black pepper and yuan zhi are darker and deeper in fragrance and so may be more appealing to men. The heavenly gingerlily products caught my nose in particular, especially the shimmer fragrance with its strong, sweet and yet clean smell with a subtle hint of spice. At £30 I think is a great bargain.

My afternoon was topped off with a hand and arm massage which was absolute heaven - I almost fell asleep in the chair! The great thing about these treatments is that they are complimentary in most stores which have a Molton Brown range. If you have 15 minutes to put aside I would recommend popping in to experience it for yourself and you'll be making regular trips after that!

Thank goodness that dilemma is no longer a problem with fabulous sites on the internet such as shop.com. For fashion - and especially beauty products - this site is a real find.

Another one I've become rather to addicted to (since discovering it on Trinny and Susannah's website) is notonthehighstreet.com. It's one of those beautiful places where you feel like you could just go in there and buy nearly everything to make your home and garden look fabulous (it also does great jewellery which is ideal for presents too). But back to gardens, thecontemporaryhome.co.uk does these wonderful little fairy light lanterns which can add a touch of magic to a barbecue this summer. I'd heartily recommend a good browse.

Anyway, enough about shopping, for the summer holiday is calling and it's called by the way of Sardinia. Sunshine, tasty Italian seafood and highly quaffable wines are but a two-hour flight away. I can barely wait.

In the meantime, our Life & Style assistant, the lovely Jess Edwards, will be taking over the reigns and keeping us up to date with the latest fashion and beauty news here - and on the Life & Style site.

Ciao for now!

After mopping up the floods (and eating the cake) we saw Ross off on his merry way to a new post on the interweb.

But it's not goodbye forever, it is merely farewell for now, for fear not readers, Ross will be back (he just couldn't stay away) writing for MSN as a feature writer. Well thank goodness for that. The Life & Style section just wouldn't be the same without his poetic words of wisdom. How on earth could we go on without Ross sharing his fitness tips with us?

Well the answer to that is, we simply couldn't. So health and fitness fans, watch out and listen up for great tips on staying healthy, looking good and feeling great coming soon to a computer near you. And in the meantime, no slacking now! Ross will be watching.

Just in case you've forgotten what he looks like, here he is enjoying a tiny glass of coke while sunning himself on holiday. We miss you Ross!

In the meantime, we are now looking for a Web Producer who has a love of all things health & wellbeing and fashion & beauty to help fill Ross's shoes. If you love the MSN Life & Style section and have experience of journalism on the web, then send your application in to Websters here.

Meaning 'pure' in Icelandic, Taer Icelandic uses natural, unique blends - including potent Icelandic organic herbs, vitamins, essential oils and minerals - which work to nourish the skin and help protect against premature ageing.

Myleene Klass is reportedly a huge fan - and Ruby Hammer says "The Taer Icelandic Active Firming Serum leaves my skin feeling lovely and matte, which is great after I've been in the sun as no greasy residue is left behind."

Start your summer regime with the Glacier Bath Oil (£35), coupled with the exfoliating Silky Refining Scrub (£19.50) for an invigorating cleanse. Follow with the Active Firming Serum (£47), which helps to reduce redness and diminish the appearance of fine lines caused by the sun - for a super-cool body.

Taer Icelandic is available to buy in Harvey Nichols stores, www.taer.com and www.musthave.co.uk.

Now, fifty years on, the salon has just relaunched it's boutique range, featuring an everyday shampoo, scalp cleansing shampoo, conditioning shampoo and a signature conditioner, as well as a body wash and cologne.

Filled with gentle ingredients such as cucumber, witchhazel, ginger, horse chestnut and dandelion, the shampoos are designed to cleanse without causing sensitivity to the scalp, while the conditioners promise to 'imbue life into even the driest of hair types.'

With deep, woody undertones, the colognes and body washes are designed to help create a layered fragrance effect.

Several of you got in touch over our article on Escaping violence and abuse, commenting that the piece was too focussed on women being abused rather than men. Thank you to those who did, we'll be asking our sex & relationships expert Dr Pam Spurr to write an article specifically geared towards men being abused in the near feature.

Our Death of the masculine man feature, which revealed that more than 60 per cent of young British blokes have admitted they don't feel masculine in a shocking new survey, also got many people chatting on the discussion boards.

Rounded man said: 'We need a man that is able to be in touch with his feminine side as much as with his masculine side without having to go overboard. Women should also be able to do the same with the result being a more rounded, balanced and wholesome human being and a less victim of cultural baggage, opportunism and downright ignorance. Enter the modern-man.'

While an anonymous reader added: "We women have got to the stage where we want a man to be everything...mend the car, do the lawn, be romantic, be the strong one, cry when watching a weepie movie with us, cook the tea, do the ironing. On the other hand, we are having to do the shopping, go to work, take kids to school, share the ironing, cooking, washing (if we're lucky), be there when the kids are ill, take them to the doctors, dentist etc, be sexy, keep our figures etc etc.'

Black SRi commented: 'Pigeon holing chores is just backwards. Look at how many female plumbers, electricians, mechanics, bus drivers and the like there are nowadays. Typically 'male' jobs are being taken on by women so it stands to reason that men should be become adaptable too by doing 'female' chores such as washing, ironing, cooking etc.

'I agree with what's been said above, society and the media dictate human behaviour in many ways. I can change a tyre, wire new plugs in my house, do DIY and at the same I have been able to wash, iron, cook and clean after myself for years. I'd say that makes me more of a man but evidently society (and many women) may frown upon it.'

Our article on giving up alcohol, Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder brought many supportive comments from people who have decided to stop drinking, whether for a few weeks, a few months or forever.

Brian Davidson said: 'I just stopped mainly for my healths sake, my wife also stopped at the same time. Strangely I've never thought about it much, I imagined it was going to be difficult and we had both drinking for many years - not alchoholics but drinking too much. One day I was a drinker, the next 1,000 I never touched even a drop. Look at the freedom I have now, I can drive anytime without any fears, another big bonus is no hangovers. I am not against drink my house is always well stocked with it, but it is only there for our friends.'

Mollynsam agreed: 'Most people associate alcohol with having a good time but since stopping drinking in 2000 I have never enjoyed myself so much without it. My only advice would be to take up something else to fill your leisure time with and honestly you do not have to get blasted to enjoy yourself it is a myth perpetrated by the breweries!'

Thank you to everyone who commented on our articles throughout the last month. Keep your views coming in.

All the best,

Head no further than Bluewater in Kent, which has just launched a season of summer style with a glamorous seaside theme.

Take a break between shops and chill out by a beach hut, designed by the likes of Alesha Dixon, style icon Jasmine Guinness and Peaches Geldof.

Meanwhile, to help you find the perfect new wardrobe this summer, Bluewater's resident stylist Anna Moore has some top tips...

1.Body Shape
Love the body you're in!
Identify your body shape and wear clothes that accentuate all your best points and disguises your imperfections!

2. Colour
Don’t be afraid of wearing colour.
Identify the colours that work best with your skin, hair and eye tones and team them with complimentary and toning colours.

3. Trends
Be aware of trends, even if certain styles are not right for you – you maybe able to create a nod to them, which will keep your look current.
Accessories are fabulous for accessing trends.

4. Shopping
Be aware of budget and objectives. Do not be tempted to panic purchase. Try to consider what items will work with in your existing wardrobe before you buy.

5. Foundations
Begin with underwear that fits correctly. Always get measured and fitted for a new bra – it can make a huge difference to your body shape, confidence and even your posture.

6. Style
Find your own style. Try to visit a new shop/try on a new colour or garment shape every-time you go shopping. We all get stuck in a style rut, and need to think outside the box!

7. Everyday Basics
Items such as good fitting jeans, vest tops, t-shirts and white shirts should be considered in terms of fit and quality just as much as special occasion looks – after all you wear these things all the time!

8. Alterations
Never under-estimate the power of alterations – we do not all fit into the exact shop size – and may need to shorten hems or sleeves to get a perfect fit.

9. Accessorise
Accessories can make an outfit come to life. They are an inexpensive and accessible way to buy into the trends of the season and bring your look bang up to date.

10. Wardrobe
Organise your wardrobe by season, (storing other clothes away) and by colour – this will make it easier to make decisions in the morning.

Avon used to be the cosmetics company with the air hostess-style image and the ring of 'Avon calling' from a lady at your mum's front door.

But there are changes afoot. Not only has Reese Witherspoon become the new face of the relaunched brand (and in particular Avon's Pro-To-Go Lipstick, which incidentally, comes with rather clever packaging that allows you to apply with one hand - for women on the go), but now the firm has teamed up with James Bond. Yes, 007.

The company is creating the new signature Bond Girl 007 women’s fragrance, the first to be created in conjunction with Bond.

British actress Gemma Arterton, who plays the role of Agent Fields in the upcoming film, will be the face of the new perfume, which is set to launch globally in 2008 in conjunction with 'Quantum of Solace'.

Says Gemma: “I’m thrilled to be working with two such iconic and established brands. The Bond Girl 007 fragrance embodies everything a Bond Girl represents - intelligence, sexiness and confidence.”

The Avon range is still exclusively not available in shops, but can be personlly hand-delivered to your door. And a special thanks to everyone who replied to the post WHO STOLE GRANDDAD'S PRESENT - it seems there are many people out there who have experienced things going missing in the post - and there really needs to be a clampdown on the few rogue posties out there who are giving the system a very bad name.

Eileen said: "I agree there are a few toerags out there who help themselves to the contents of the post, it has happened to me twice now and both times the Royal Mail has not been at all interested and more or less brushed my complaint under the carpet, no wonder they are having to close much needed post offices down and are being privatised."

While Cheesed-Off from Chichester added: "I buy a lot of things from Ebay and pay for recorded delivery which is money wasted when the postie doesn't bother to get me to sign for delivery. I used to complain when things arrived damaged or unsigned-for and always got the same standard letter back saying they were terribly sorry and assuring me it wouldn't happen again. Now, every time I receive a parcel with a recorded delivery sticker on it which the postie hasn't bothered to get me to sign, I wait a few days, check the tracking number online, which always comes back as "untraceable" and then claim for the parcel. They can't prove it's been delivered as they have no signature, so they have to pay up."</div&g
